I just wanted to mention that when I send Loki to Doggy Daycare he is an angel for DAYS after. There is no need to send him every day (nor the $!), so he only goes once every week or two as needed to get the hyperness out. Normally he runs circles around the house but even a few days after daycare he just wants to chill with me on the couch and be petted. It's expensive here too, but not so much if he only goes once a week. It might help you with some of the puppy crazies too! (Loki will be a year in a couple of weeks, and he has more energy than the day we got him.) People I talk to think I am nuts and have a spoiled dog, but I'm the spoiled one because I like him to sit next to me while i watch TV and sending him to daycare leaves me with a very happy dog who just wants to love me!

Also, your pup is probably sleeping all day and so that's why he is crazy at night. I really have a rule that there are no naps after 7pm for Loki because he is up at 10pm wanting to play when we want to go to bed. I'm sure you've tried kongs, treat dispensers, etc. Oh and potty pads can screw up potty training for some dogs - so if you are leaving him with a pad during the day and then expecting him to go outside when you are home he won't get it. And crate training really is a good thing, promise.

I'm sorry if you've heard all of this already, I'm probably not helping. Good luck and I hope you can figure out what to do.

One last thing - we did 6 months of obedience with Loki. Yep, 3 - 8 week classes. He even got into the intermediate classes! We had so much fun, he is so smart, and you have the trainer RIGHT THERE to pick their brain about all the other problems you are having. We have an AMAZING trainer who is certified in so many things and we are so lucky to have found her. Don't pass up the opportunity for training, it really makes the dog respect you and gives them a "job" so they can use their energy for something positive. GOOD LUCK!!
