If I read her post right, the vet is
in the petstore. The vet simply handed her the check back that she wrote for the puppy and is now refusing to tell her anything else about the puppy since she took the check. So, yes. The pup is now the property of the pet store once again.
Can they do that???!!!!
If I'm right, I strongly urge the OP to refuse any financial responsibility for the pup's treatment.
What a sad, sad situation. This sort of pet store/vet arrangement should be illegal (if it's not already).
