I just wet a cotton ball with warm water and soak the eye for a bit till it softens, then it usually comes right out. I bought this stuff called Angel Eyes and its a powder that you spread over the food and they love it. You can buy it at the vets or any pet store. Rambo is only 3 lbs so he takes 1/4 tsp. hope this helps
