Here are the instructions we received after Sophia's spay:

• Restrict your pet’s activity. Walk dogs only on a leash and discourage running, jumping or rough play for 7-10 days.

We walked her twice a day only on the sidewalk, not on grass. One of the walks was just a short "bathroom break" walk. For a week, we watched her like a hawk to prevent her from jumping up on anything but I don't think she would have tried. We kinda let her regulate her own activity that first week and she slowly became more and more active.
