I think you have the general idea on making the single loop topknot bows. The main thing with those is you need to wrap that thread around tighter and cinch the middle of the bows in more. I really can't explain how to make a bow without showing someone in person and I have developed certain techniques I do to get it to look exactly how I want. But my main advice is to use a needle and strong thread and after you stitch the center of the bow together, wrap that thread around the center tightly to cinch it in more. And then you can use dowel rods or things like pencils (small cylinder shaped things) to put inside the loops. And then use a brush-on or spray stiffener. And it usually just takes some practice too.
