Have you looked into what is the law in your state? Maybe all these questions are moot to you at this point but those practices to me seem way out of line. Do you have a Better Business Bureau you can report this breeder to?

Well I live in Kentucky. But no, I had no idea that this was going to happen. The lady had advertised the puppies really early, so that was when I paid the deposit of 300 dollars. All my other dogs I have gotten around the age of 8 weeks, so I was a little surprised when I got a call from her telling me I could come get her. She was born Sept. 22 and I brought her home Oct 1. She said that if I refused to pay the “kennel” fee, it would be considered almost as if I didn’t want the puppy anymore, and that they are not required to return a deposit. I don’t know if I can turn her into the BBB. I just hope the other puppies are okay, because when I brought her home, she was SUPER tiny, I had to pay close attention to her blood sugar. She also didn’t have any teeth, so I had to soak and mush her food. Hopefully the other puppies went to owners who took good care of them, because if she was practically forcing me to take the baby at how young she was, I bet the other puppies were forced out too.
