I have purchased doggie car seats that put my dogs up higher. That has helped. One of mine, though, has to have 1/2 a Bonine pill (travel sickness pill) a half hour before we leave. I also restrict his food and water intake. The 1/2 tablet is for an 8 lb. doggie. Bonine is found at Wal-Mart or Walgreens. Be sure to consult with your vet. Vets also have travel sickness meds available.
