Default New too at potty training

I've had my little yorkie for a week now, he is just over 8 weeks old. The best advice my vet gave me was to take him out every 45 minutes. Seems alot, and I am lucky enough to have the time to do so. I've learned also to stop any food and water atleast 3 hours before bed, this has helped alot... in fact by the time it's bedtime he is so tired from playing that he has been sleeping anywhere between 5-8 hrs in his crate, before he awakens to go outside. Then I place him back in the crate to go back to sleep, as he is in our room he only whines a bit before going back to bed if it is too early to get up.
I am finding the best thing to do if there is an accident (Mojo peed on my bed when my son was getting hom ready to go out), I say "no" and immediately take him outside. I've been telling him the words outside and also telling him "do your business" as soon as I place him in his designated area.
Best of luck...I am too finding it a challenge to catch him before accidents, and have learned to really watch his sniffing or circling as indicators.
