Yeah, especially in my neighborhood this is a big problem, but we made it to wear they can never touch my baby. Before I got her, my husband got an English Mastiff puppy. Someone ACTUALLY tried to steal him, so we got a burglar alarm. Also put padlock on crate. I know, they could always just take the crate, but English mastiff puppies arent exactly tiny, so the crate was decent size. Now, if they tried to break into my house, they would have to deal with not only an alarm, but a 217 pound guard dog.
