well, what you don't want to do is give in to every wimper or you will create a dog that OWNS you, not the other way around. Fergus and Hamish both get away with a LOT, but, there is some stuff we just don't do around here....and one of them is give in to their every whim...with yorkies, if they figure out they can manipulate you, well....its all over!
Be firm, loving, and patient. Eventually, when you don't reward her crying with doing what she wants (like picking her up, taking her out of the crate, etc) she will get the message.
