I always shake my head at people who say they love their animal but they could never be in the room because it hurts them to much. Much easy to drop the dog off and leave. How cruel can you be as now the poor dog is all alone in their final moments.
Me too. It wasn't even a question IF I was going to be there when I said goodbye to my sweet boy who fought cancer for two years. I have a hard time understanding how someone can say they just can't stand to watch...I would have done ANYTHING to make his final moments comfortable, so he'd know he wasn't alone...it seems not as many think as I do though. Sick to my stomach now, but I know those who work in rescue truly are angels on earth.

By the way, do you think it really saves money? Is there no surrender fee at the pounds? That just makes it even worse. The one thing that was not overpriced in my bullmastiff's cancer treatment was our final bill ($35...to put things in perspective, ugh).
