This was my thinking as well. When Gisele's (you know the supermodel) yorkie was found she went to the couple's house who found her to pay the reward, but instead she showed up with the cops to try and find out if they had taken her for ransom instead.
A friend of a friend told me her yorkie was also stolen and held for a $4000 ransom.
Anyway OP, very glad you found your pup. Big sigh of relief.
