Rio just got microchipped (with spay and dental extractions) 2 days ago - I was cuddling with her and I can feel her little microchip! It's like a tiny tube, about 1/2" long.

Is that normal? A little background - she's a tiny yorkie, just 2.6 lbs at almost 9 months old, and not very chunky/meaty. She isn't underweight but she doesn't have a lot of fat. I just got a little shocked that I could actually feel the microchip.

Have any of you experienced this?
