Most times problems continue throughout a dogs life when they have been taken from their mom too young. The norm is 12 to 14 weeks unless they are really tiny, then it can be up to 4 to 6 months. The mom teaches them more than a lot of people realize.
I'd suggest getting a book on training. Puppies that young have an attention span of about 3 seconds, so training has to continually be consistant and persistant, never quitting till the goal is reached. It takes a few months, not days or weeks.
