Max doesn't like the day to end, so almost every night at sundown, he kicks and punches his bed around, turns it upside down, falls down in a huff, and lets out a big sigh and finally falls asleep. He knows that we have a big play session later before actual bedtime, but he still throws his tantrum when the sun goes down.
