If there were mats before a bath then it probably made the mat tighter & might be impossible to brush out now. I would shave the underbelly & arm pit areas. If the mats are to the skin on the sides, I would shave it & start over. With the cold months ahead, they'll probably be wearing clothes, & that'll also create mats underneath. So, shaving it off & growing it again is not a bad idea.
If the mats are not that bad & you're able to work it out, try corn starch. Put it directly on the hair, doesn't matter how much you put on, it won't damage the hair. Rub it in real good, work it w/your fingers & w/a comb or slicker brush, work out the mat. Always hold the hair closest to the skin to avoid damaging the skin & becareful w/the slicker brush. |
