Well, times have changed since I first started breeding. Back then it was common to sell pups at 6 to 8 weeks. While now I agree that it is best to keep pups until they are close to 12 weeks old, there are many people that do not understand the reasoning behind that. I know many people get pups at 8 weeks and they do just fine. What really scares me about your friend getting a pup that young is that the pup will be alone all day. I find that really sad. Please tell your friend that it is unsafe to leave a new pup alone that long. If she does get the pup she needs to make sure either she or someone else can check on the pup during the day.
