Hi. First of all Congrats on shortly owning a Yorkie....Please don't worry too much...All pups will bond with the person or other pets that the live with..it is very natural. It sounds to me like he has a very loving nature..
Once you get him home start off straight away with where he will sleep etc.. He may whine a bit at first..but with lost os attention and little treats..it won't take him long to love you..I am sure.!!
If the owner has maybe a blanket or something that the pup is used to...to maye take away with you with their smell on..that would help too..!
But most of all have a positive attitude towards the pup...they do get any vibes from us..so right from the start let him know that you are now his new mum...they quickly forget...even a few hours on..
