Dr. Bronner is a castile soap. From a person point of view, I use it. I wouldn't recommend it for hair! I made that mistake on mine once when I was out of shampoo one day. They claim it works well as a shampoo, but my hair came out really dry which says a lot since I have oily hair and it did not look good nor clean.

Human use on skin, Dr. Bronner's soaps are quite nice (they leave the skin with an entirely different feeling then "conventional" soaps) and target carries a few pieces of the line. Wouldn't recommend you use it on your dog though.
