Welcome to YT!

Both of my babies are very affectionate but in there own way. Maddie is my shadow and waits by the window or door when I don't bring her, other than that she is very independant and confident. Copper loves me and wants to be with me but also likes to have his own space, he cuddles when I least expect it

he is shy with strangers and new situations.
Copper was a puppy when I got him, Maddie was 19 weeks, and Rocket was 5years. There are pros and cons to getting them at every age.
I like the older puppy stage, Mad came almost potty trained, and already knew how to stay clear of feet, and other basic dangers(we still made her wear a bell though

)
The puppy stage is great but they are still definately babies.
And adults can come trained and well behaved, or with bad habbits that need reversing. I bonded with Rockey instantly though, he was the sweetest of all my dogs, and had great life habbits already.
Go with your heart, and what you are drawn to. They are a long term commitment so getting a healthy yorkie IMO is the most important factor

Congradulations on your decision to get a yorkie, they are a wonderful and addictive breed
