i would not use arnica in this situation as you cannot mix things with steroids or it can cause issues with the lining of stomach for example you cannot mix nsaids with steroids and my yorkie is jacked up from that in february when i knew tramadol was safer to mix with steroids i trusted the vet and now my dog has intestinal issues. STick to the plan the vet has it sounds good to me and tramadol is WAY BETTER than any nsaid. You cannot mix nsaids with steroids so at least this vet knows this. Tramadol is a bitter drug so pills are best but if you have to they will have to take liquid my yorkie had liquid tramadol after dental and she made some crazy faces and that is when i found out it is very bitter. Also make sure you do steroids mid meal NEVER ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Give half food then steroid then half food. Not sure about muscle relaxers but i would do the same with the tramadol.
I hope your baby is ok and i always ask a pharmacist and call manufacturer when giving any meds to ask side effects and also to ask if safe combining drugs and also to make sure how to give properly with our without food as i have been given bad info by vets before so now before mine get them i discuss with those two sources above. The compounding facility should be a pharmacist as my client has one and they are very knowledgeable as well so you may want to ask the pharmacist where the drugs are being compounded.
also tramadol can be taken with nsaids just NOT NSAIDS WITH STEROIDS. I a not a fan of nsaids at all and will avoid with all cost in my dogs as there are alot of side effects to nsaids and much prefer tramadol but tramadol does not have anti-inflammatory like steroids or nsaids as tramadol is strictly for pain relief
