Missy, when you put the clamp on wait a few seconds and then hold the pup with one hand at the base of the tail (rump) and twist as fast you can with the other hand. Twist AND PULL at the same time. Wait another second or two and put the mama back with mama. it stops crying immediately when you do that. It will un nerve you the first time because the do cry and try to scoot away when you clamp them. I have never had to use quick stop or anything on the tails. there is usually no blood. |
