We took Nala to the emergency vet a few weeks after we got her and they diagnosed her with kennel cough. We sent the x-rays to our real vet. Today, we took her to our vet because she's been "coughing" for a week and it sounded exactly like the kennel cough. She did a complete exam and tried to manipulate her throat to get her to cough again but she wouldn't. Since that was her only symptom accompanied by some diareah (they did a fecal) she said that there was a chance it could be mild collapsed trachea but you'd need an x-ray to tell. When we were paying Nala had another episode and the vet heard so she rushed to the other side of the counter to hear and feel what she was doing. It was reverse sneezing. She said it's nothing to worry about compared to coughing, but keep an eye on it because it could be a sign of allergy.
