Try talking to a professional groomer that does hand stripping or carding. It's meant to pull that wooly hair out. Dogs like Airedale Terriers with that wiry coat usually get it done. Good news is that it will try to pull that puppy hair out and makes their coat look really nice!
You can also try a leave in conditioner combined with that greyhound comb. Good luck
