I have no idea on the coat. I have heard someone on here use a hot oil treatment on their dog's coat with good results.
As far as feeding goes...I put my boys' bowl down for 10 minutes twice a day. Sometimes they eat a lot and sometimes they are done after 5 minutes. MOST of the time, the don't even make it to 10 minutes and they are both a very healthy weight.
