Im so happy with her. I do have another dog he is a beagle/pekignese he is also adorable i wanted to mention him because its incredible how much these pets bring you joy and happiness unconditional through anything.
Okay so here is my little issue, its happened twice where she goes poop and it does get stuck in her little hairs (around how anal area), & when she goes pee she always steps on pee and drags it on her tiny paws, i do clean her with whipes but i wanted to know what can i do to stop this from happening?
ALSO her ears seem kind of floopy to me, they dont stand up all the way they bend down, i dont know how to shave her ears, i had been reading that people shave her ears and with masking tape, they tape them up?... i might not be very crafty here im scare to touch her ears & cut her..with a razor??? I have never had a pup with long hair as my little sharpie has short hair and never got it pee'd or poo'ed.... please advice and help very well appreciated and any other pointers to try to get my new baby in shape and in perfect condition.
Another thing, the breeder i got her from, told me she should be 5 pounds or smaller because both parents are 5 pounds, how accurrate is this? When i took her to petsmart and weighed her the other day after she had eaten ect she was 3.5 at 9 weeks..... for some reason i feel she will be larger.. can some one guide me on this?
Thank you! |
As a breeder let me explain a bit to you about weight......where yorkies are concerned, throw away the weight charts.......
Your pup is 12 weeks of age.....she's chunky still from milk fat and eating alot.....
All depends on her lineage, was she line bred.....father & mother's weight and size figure into it....but, so do grandsire and granddam and great grandsire and great granddam......and then you need to consider there are so many other breeds that went into the makeup of the yorkshire terrier.....anything can happen.....There are lines that grow up front that and then stop at about 5 months of age......and then there are lines that take an extra growth spurt at a year......so many things factor into this wonderful world of yorkies.
Google Jo-Nan Yorkies.....Cookie Rogan's website.....she'll explain ears, how to shave and how to tape up. You do need to keep the weight off of them.
Trim the hair around her lil anal opening. Shaving her ears....go to Sally's and get a Whal Peanut...pretty safe and full proof....you can shave her ears with it and not worry about cutting, also her foot pads.
