My girl Zoey just loves the hide a squirrel. We have two sizes, the smallest one I leave out in her play area in the basement. The holes are too small for her to really get her head into and she loves to play with them. We practice alot of 'good trading' with the extra squirrels. At first she didn't care for it much but I hid a few treats in it and then she loved it.
I have the regular size one upstairs and it is a riot to watch her play. I will concur that I do NOT leave this one alone with her because she stuffs her head into the tree trunk and tosses it around (or maybe the trunk tosses her around - I am not entirely sure).
I really think the toy brings out her instincts of wanting to hunt in a hole. Great toys for my little one - hope it works as well for you!
