Have you thought about a foster home for her until you return to the States? That way you wouldn't have to give her up completely. I, for one, would be proud to foster a dog for a military family...it's the least I could do for them after all they do for us! I'm not that far from you...if you decide you would like or need my help please let me know.
I have a neice and her family stationed in Hawaii right now and you're going to love it! Although, she loves and actually misses snow of the Midwest so she just went to visit my other neice and her family who are stationed in Alaska...silly girl!
