Can anyone please help me,my 6 month old yorkie is 70% potty trained.

my problem is any time i leave her out to go potty she goes on the step directly outside the back door which is only 2 feet in size when there is a hole bigger backyard for her to go! I have done the whole going out with her since the start and stayed with her until she went and praised her for going(which would be somewhere in the backyard and not on the step)
but any time she goes out on her own this happens! and she stands all over it or even sits on it barking until she is left back in.
im really at my witts end with this. Sometimes its not always convinent for me to go out with her every time so i have to put her out on her own(then this happens!) PLEASE HELP
Also i still have to keep an eye on her in the house incase shes goes as she doesnt scratch at the door to go out and still has accidents, plus the other day she pooed in the house and i caught her eating it!! yuk, help me please, what should i do??
