Taffy does this with one of her mini carrots. She'll pace around the room whimpering looking for a place to hide it. (She's also done this with an ice cube only to return to it "gone" to the place where all good ice cubes eventually go. That's really comical because I think she thinks we've stolen it...LOL)
What she usually does after searching and whimpering for a good hiding place is drop the carrot in the middle of the floor in plain sight. Then if we happen to say "I see your carrot" she lets out a breath of sheer disgust as though we didn't play the game she wanted...the game of pretending it isn't obviously in the middle of the floor!
There are times when she will dig a "fake" hole, use her nose to push invisible dirt over it, and then strut off as proud of herself as can be (with the carrot still in plain sight). I'm not sure what fantasy game she's playing when she does that!
Needless to say, we have found shriveled up little mini carrots in some strange places. |
