I had my Nikki spayed at 7 months and she was only 3 pounds. I didn't feed her that morning but it makes sense to keep her blood sugar up. Nikki bounced right back. We didn't need a cone as she didn't lick her stiches.
Good luck! I took my Nikki to a vet that spayed my friends tiny dog. I heard stories......
