Default What to expect for spay on tiny Yorkie

Hi Everyone - Rio is scheduled for spay/baby teeth pull next Tuesday and I'm wondering if you all could tell me what to expect. She is only 2.8 lbs, so my vet said although most dogs aren't supposed to eat after 9pm the night before, Rio will be able to have a small meal at 7am that morning and I would have to bring her to the vet at 9am. Vet said that way she won't be hypoglycemic. Is that what most of you tiny owners experienced too?

How did your little ones do after spay surgery? Was recovery pretty quick? Were you able to find a cone that fit your tiny one well? I ordered a Softee Cone collar that fits Rio well. I just hope she'll accept wearing it when she really has to wear it.

Did you feed them anything special to accomidate teeth being pulled?

I'm so nervous because she's only 2.8lbs, although she is 8 months old.

Thanks for your advice in advance!
