Default I can't believe I am even THINKING about this!

My Fergus is 11 months old and has a GREAT coat. silky, doesn't tangle very much, easy to keep up with (baths every 10 days or so, regular brushing, top knot)

But recently he has been getting into EVERYTHING outside. Sticker bushes (try getting a thousand little sticker buds out of a yorkie's coat!), pine needles, the brush...

I have a yard that is MOSTLY cement and a pool...but every little weed or plant that grows on the edges, or in the grass he is into.

So...I have a groomer appointment scheduled for tomorrow...I am thinking of getting him cut (actually cut, not just pads and ears trimmed). He is such a little ball of energy, I don't want to curtail it...but I love his long coat!

So....any suggestions? My teapot Hamish is trimmed and we love him to bits, I just wanted a longer coat on Fergus...but now, I am thinking maybe its too much trouble (for him, more than me) because he loves running around outside with his brothers and he hates the constant grooming that his penchant for getting into the briers is causing...

If you have pics that is great too! I am just wringing my hands about this... maybe a mid lenght trim? instead of a short cut??

Help!
