I can understand why you might have been upset.
That is precisely why I always pick my dogs up when being approached by a strage dog. Dog owners don't necessarily understand their dogs and their dog's body language, I NEVER EVER let a strange dog approach mine - no matter what the size.
Whether I "should have to" or not is irrevelent -- to me it is a hard core rule that I simply refuse to take chances. I am sure that I am thought of as rude when I pick up my dogs and move away from someone walking a dog that I don't know, but frankly I don't really care. If I have the opportunity to explain I will, if not then so be it. |
