They should be able to atleast get an idea. If he has an infection there will be white blood cells. However, they probably will not be able to culture the specific bacteria because of the contamination. I would keep trying to get a clean sample, hopefully you can get one before your appointment. BTW you should keep the urine in the fridge until your appt.
