We try to feed according to Punkin's activity level. When she is more active on a particular day we feed her a bit more. It helps us maintain her weight more consistently.

We weigh her on the kitchen scale with wax paper covering it every few weeks to make sure she is maintaining her weight. It is kinda funny to see her perched on it!

We also break her treats into smaller pieces on the days when she is not as active - so she still gets her same treats at the same times, just less.

One other thing we have noticed is that how long Punkin's hair is at the time we weigh her has an impact on her weight. If your little one is close to needing a haircut and the last time she she was weighed she had just had a haircut, it can make a difference of quite a few ounces.
