I am always saying this and my SIL has told me that my niece now says this all the time too.
I tried several times over the years to get a dog from a rescue...either never heard back from the rescues or never could get approved. I guess I just looked like too much of a "risk" to them. Don't know why, ask anyone who knows me, my dogs live better then me or DH.

Annie B was a gift from my sister who unwittingly got her as a retired breeder from a puppy mill. (If you knew my sister, you'd soooo see the irony in this.

) So technically she'd be a rescue. And DH was able to get Boo from a rescue. I love the work rescues do and I support them wholeheartedly, but I do wonder sometimes if who they approve/deny aren't just a little jaded because of all the bad they do see.
