An uneven clippered cut is caused by you.
The cut is all dependent on how you are holding the clippers...so it's possible to have a section shorter simply because you had the clippers at a different angle or are pressing downward.
My clippers came with a blending comb blade. I don't like my dogs shaved...2 of mine are in 2" puppy cuts. After clippering them, I use the blending comb blade.
And 35.99 is a steal for a grooming table with an arm and lead. You can do without an actual table just fine.
