Default new Yorkie/Llapso Apso

Just got our puppy, 8 weeks old, We got if from a private party, she did a few doses of de-wormer, what else will we need to get for health right away.
Also, we are crateing him and he is doing great, minimal accidents inside, mostly we bring him outside and he goes.
But, during the night (only has been 2 nights so far)...he crys, before we put him in (10pm) we take him out to go bathroom, then put him in the crate in the kitchen, he cries for awhile then goes to sleep, then about 12:30-1:00am he starts to cry again, so we get up and take him outside to go to the bathroom, then put him back into the crate , he cries a little then goes to sleep, until about 5:30-6am.
We use to let our kids cry in their crib, so we are trying the same tactic, is this correct way to do it???
Thanks
Barry
