I'm glad to hear you vet has enough sense not to treat the leg and sent you right to the ortho. My vet did not do that, and when he did send me to the specialist, she was worse than he was! It isn't bad after the surgery, your little Jersey will be fine. When the pin the bone it heals much better and faster than without it. I would look for someone to come in and take care of him while your at work. If you can't, put a small pen with a pee pee pad in there, they won't move anymore than they have too.
