The ortho took off the cast, took x-rays and decided she needed surgery, put a tight bandage on without a splint and her leg rebroke later that week, she got gangrene and they had to amputate her leg.
I blame most of this on myself, I knew she wasn't healing. I should have done my homework, found the best ortho and took her in early. Instead I listened to the advice of a hometown vet.
Newt is doing well with three legs, but she did much better with 4!
Oh I am so sorry for that your baby had to go through so much. My vet said straight away that he would not set the leg and will call ortho for me 1st thing tomorrow to get Jersey in. I thought the worry with his neuter was bad, that was nothing compared to this. My daughter broke her arm when she was 9 (she is now 27) the same way I felt back then for her I feel for Jersey. He is my baby and my heart breaks for him seeing him this way.
