When we got Teddy what I did was I got a treat and showed it to
him. Then I would cup it in my hand out of his sight...he still knew
the treat was there so that's where his focus remained. Then I
softly said his name. If he looked the hand opened to reveal and
reward him. It didn't take long to figure out that Teddy was a
good thing to respond to. I carried that over into everything I do
with him. I never yell at him but I do say Teddy to get his attention
and then the word no. Just the same as I say Teddy and then come
or Teddy and then off. They are good little students that are studying
your habits and patterns in molding their own.
