As with any breed, there are incorrect breedings but just as a correct yorkie has a silk (cool to the touch) coat......the same goes for silkies.
I currently own a fair quality yorkie, a yorkie that is way out standard and three very nice show quality silkies including one that a have out at AKC shows as a special (championed at the age of one). |

My last silky was a Huge petstore silky & he still had Silky hair & Had a Tan face.
