The first girl of mine that did not have contractions had a pup come out of its bag in utero. She ended up with a c-section and had two beautiful other babies that made it. We had to put her on antibiotic to make sure she did not have an infection, and she did run a little fever afterwards, but did so much better a few days later.
My other girl I have that did not go into having contractions had a pup into both horns and was stuck. No way was this pup going to make it out on its own. So we had to do a c-section. There are usually good reason why they do not have contractions and all the time in the world is not going to help. |
I also had a girl that didn't have contractions. She was panting, but never went into labor because I had given her too much calcium. She ended up having a c-section and luckily all the puppies survived. I hope you do contact your vet especially since you didn't have an x-ray and that this is her first litter. I pray that everything goes well for you.
