I called my vet about Logan licking his incision after surgery and she said that it wasn't a big deal. The stitches are internal so he can't pull them out and there isn't a problem with infection. She did however tell me the antibacterial spray they put on after might upset his tummy so if I see him doing it I should just say no. After a day or two he didn't bother it anymore. I would just try that. Or call your vet and see what they recommend. With internal stitches and glue they don't use E collars much anymore.
