That is so sad and I do hope he gets his dog back. I know the family chose a Yorkie for their son's hope and inspiration but I don't think that a Yorkie is good for this type of work only because they will take off if given the chance. Had the family chose a Golden Retriever, it most likely would not have run off. I have a Samoyed and a Yorkie and if I open the door, they would take off like a shot even though my Yorkie is very close to me and the Samoyed is very close to my children.

Good luck to the family and I pray he gets his dog back but we know how people are when it comes to stealing Yorkies. I think they are the number one stolen dog in this country. Aren't they? and the smaller they are, the more likely they are stolen.
