Are you sure you want a puppy from your neighbor afterall? I completely understand the draw of being able to have the puppy and the pup's mother near eachother for visits, and having the breeder next door to answer questions you may have in the future, etc.. I totally get that this could be a neat thing, knowing who you got your puppy from, but have you tried looking at this from another angle? Let's say there is something wrong with the puppy you take from her (hypothetically); and there are a number of things that a puppy can get, whether it's genetic or something the puppy picked up. Are you willing to put a strain on your relationship with your neighbor if a problem becomes an issue that isn't resolved properly? Just make sure that there is definitely a contract written out before considering a puppy from your neighbor- health guarantees, guarantee against particular genetic defects, and also get a record of shots and dewormings. Just a thought, I hope this has given you something to think about.
I totally understand what you are saying I actually felt bad about looking for a breeder when I did start looking, but she kept telling me that she wasn't sure if she is expecting and I do want a puppy so I went ahead and looked anyway. I hadnt thought about all that, I guess because I was excited, but that is a good point, I will have to think about that and to be honest I would be probably better off going with a breeder, this is the first time for her. I guess b/c I saw how she had the two dogs, where they were sleeping or staying while she was gone, in a kennel that fit the both of them enough to move but there was poopie and I am sure pee in it so it grossed me out, i have mine in a kennel only when we leave but they dont go potty there you know what I mean.
