She sais her vet told her that as long as the male is smaller than the female the it is okay to breed that small. She kept one from each litter but she is not sure she is going to breed the little girl she kept because she has too much trouble giving up the pups. She falls in love with them and she says she's too old to keep any more. LOL

If I were breeding I would want to make sure there was "no chance of a throw back" from somewhere down the pedigree line but the theriogenologists (reproduction specialists) don't seem to think it is a problem either.

All I can say is thru phone calls - people LIE. I'm sure she lost a few if she is breeding that tiny - do you really think she's going to share ALL the information on those puppies with you on the phone ? and as far as problems with the puppies - I doubt someone is going to tell the whole truth that will take a dog that small and intentionally breed her -

And so what if she SAID her vet encouraged her to breed tinies - If that's true then THAT VET IS JUST LOOKING FOR MORE BUSINESS

Remember - HE is the one she would be running to for the C sections and problems with the babies -

To me - Encouraging the Breeding of Tinies in any form is just wrong. Sorry - but that is JUST my opinion and 2.5 lbs is just TOO TINY
