I think she is getting tired of me asking her "no puppies yet?" lol... if she isnt expecting then I have some breeders lined up but if that is the case then i will have to wait a little longer then anticipated but that will just give me more time to prepare. |
Hmmm, I just read what you wrote and it got me thinking some more. You say she probably doesn't take good care of her pets (well, at least not the way you take care of yours, it seems), so are you completely sure that she will take excellent care of the puppies? Are you sure you want a puppy from your neighbor afterall? I completely understand the draw of being able to have the puppy and the pup's mother near eachother for visits, and having the breeder next door to answer questions you may have in the future, etc.. I totally get that this could be a neat thing, knowing who you got your puppy from, but have you tried looking at this from another angle? Let's say there is something wrong with the puppy you take from her (hypothetically); and there are a number of things that a puppy can get, whether it's genetic or something the puppy picked up. Are you willing to put a strain on your relationship with your neighbor if a problem becomes an issue that isn't resolved properly? Just make sure that there is definitely a contract written out before considering a puppy from your neighbor- health guarantees, guarantee against particular genetic defects, and also get a record of shots and dewormings. Just a thought, I hope this has given you something to think about.
