OMAHA, Neb. -- It's a crime animal lovers in the city want to solve, and now there is a reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever killed two dogs on Halloween.
Two huskies, owned by Margi McCormick, ate two baggies filled with meat that were tainted with antifreeze. The dogs' kidneys shut down and they died.
Now, the Nebraska Humane Society, along with the Humane Society of the United States, have upped the reward fund to $5,000. They are taking the action because the crime is so brutal.
"What separates this case from the other cases is that most of the other cases that we've dealt with involve stupidity or indifference on the part of the owner," said NHS's Mark Langan. "This is a pre-meditated, malicious killing of these dogs."
